          Highlights from the OCHN Annual Community Baby Shower

          OCHN Baby ShowerOAKLAND COUNTY, MI (junio 18, 2026) – Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) welcomed more than 50 families to its annual Community Baby Shower, an event designed to connect expectant and new parents with valuable resources, education, and community support. The event held on junio 3, 2026, at Welcome Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac brought together healthcare professionals, community partners, and families for an afternoon focused on promoting healthy pregnancies, informed decision-making, and family well-being.

          Participants had the opportunity to engage with local service providers, access community resources, and learn from expert presenters who addressed the growing impact of cannabis use among women of childbearing age, during pregnancy, and while breastfeeding.

          Featured speakers Biyyiah A. Strickland, MSN, RN, and LaTisha Bader, Ph.D., LP, LAC, CMPC, provided valuable information on cannabis and CBD use during pregnancy, including maternal and infant health outcomes. The conversation also focused on Michigan cannabis laws, emerging research, evolving cannabis trends, public health concerns, and the importance of informed conversations about cannabis use and its impact on individuals and families.
