Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a widely used, evidence-based approach in which helpers empower individuals to uncover their own personal reasons for change, grounded in their own values and interests. By learning how to adopt a collaborative stance, and viewing both the helper and individual as experts in the process, natural resistance to changing can be reduced, leading to improved outcomes and lasting behavior change.
MI has been used in a wide array of contexts for more than forty years. Today MI is used by substance use counselors, therapists, case managers, medical professionals, law enforcement, sports coaches, and many others.
You will receive the Microsoft Teams link to join the meeting within 48-72 hours prior to the training, via the email you provide when registering. This training qualifies for 6 hours of Social Work CEs.
