4/22/26-4/23/26 WELLE Fundamentals with Behavioral Safety Approaches
OPEN ONLY TO OCHN AND THE OCHN PROVIDER NETWORK!
WELLE Fundamentals training is a crisis intervention model that stresses both pro-active and “in the moment” verbal approaches that are appropriately matched to the level of behavior seen in other individuals. This workshop will help participants grow in their understanding of the vulnerabilities and triggers of trauma survivors and develop skills to be more supportive and avoid retraumatization. Focus is on fostering a culture of empathy that helps staff build partner relationships with individuals receiving services, fellow staff members, and management. The 1-day WELLE training helps participants develop an understanding of how a balanced “green” life helps us to deal with stress more effectively. While pro-active verbal strategies are emphasized, a tiered skill-building approach will be taught for intervening with individuals who are showing behaviors associated with being agitated, disruptive, destructive, dangerous, or lethal. Opportunities to practice skills and time for Q and A will be provided.
