Motivational Interviewing builds collaborative, respectful conversations that increase engagement, strengthen motivation, and support lasting behavior change. This course provides an overview of the core principles of Motivational Interviewing. Participants will learn about the Spirit of Motivational Interviewing, the Four Tasks, OARS communication skills (Open ended questions, Affirmations, Reflective listening, and Summaries), and the Stages of Change, with opportunities to practice core skill sets.
