The conceptual foundation of ethics represents an inherent and essential framework for behavioral health. In this presentation, attendees will gain a thorough understanding of the fundamental concepts of ethics in practice. Ethical codes and guidelines will be discussed, including the NASW Code of Ethics. Ethical concepts, including confidentiality, informed consent, personal and professional boundaries, and dual relationship issues, will be addressed and relevant case studies will be presented and discussed. With the increase of clinical practice through phone and video platforms, ethical concepts surrounding telehealth and teletherapy will be defined and discussed. Attendees will learn about ethical issues surrounding beginning and ending clinical relationships. Ethical problem-solving models, tools, and concepts will be examined and utilized. Throughout the seminar attendees will be actively engaged in a multi-media, multi-sensory presentation, well suited to all learning-styles.

This is a virtual Ethics course that is 10am-1pm on Thursday AND Friday. Participants MUST attend both days to get credit and CEs. Participants will receive a link to the sessions 24-48 hours prior. 6 Social Work and MCBAP-specific CEs are offered for those attending the FULL session.
