          2-Day WRAP

          Overview

          WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) introduces you to the five key concepts of WRAP and guides in creating a personal WRAP. You will learn from peers how to manage through life’s difficult times using a WRAP and wellness toolbox.

          Requirments

          No cost for Oakland County residents or Peers working in Oakland County.

          For non-Oakland County residents or Peers: 2 Day WRAP Class: $50 (includes all
          materials and lunch)

          3-Day WRAP

          Overview

          This class consists of 3 full days learning how to be a WRAP Facilitator.

          You will be able to teach WRAP with a co-facilitator. You must have a co-facilitator to facilitate WRAP classes.

          Requirments

          You must have previously attended a 2 Day WRAP with the State or OCHN.

          Approaching Persons in a Way That Makes Them Feel Safe and Valued

          Overview

          This training will cover gentle teaching concepts, such as:

          • The 4 pillars of safe, valued, valuing, and engagement.
          • The four tools in relationships: Our eyes, our words, our hands and our presence.
          • The 6 elements of safe, valued, positive interactions, demands, structure and transitions.

          You will also learn the history of gentle teaching, what a culture of gentleness means, and discuss feeling safe, valued, and nurtured.

          Catching Hope

          Overview

          One of the most important aspects of recovery or in getting quality lives is hope. It’s as important as the air we breathe. Hope, can make bad days better and good days great. Hope Givers are people who give hope to others around them (Hope Receivers). All of us can be Hope Givers and Receivers. This training helps you learn how.

          What You'll Learn

          This training provides details about what a Hope Giver, Hope Receiver and Hope Stealer is, personal stories to highlight what each is, promotes people giving hope and becoming Hope Givers. Helps Social Workers become Hope Givers and teaches them how to help the people they work with become Hope Receiver’s making dreams and goals with their new-found HOPE and how to ignore Hope Stealers personally or in their minds. Social workers will learn how to help the people they work with develop healthy relationships by learning how one attracts Hope Givers and keeps them in their lives!

          This training will go over what a crisis plan is and why you should have one! We will explain the research that shows how crisis plans help during a crisis and discuss what should be in a crisis plan.

          Overview

          Everybody worries from time to time. There is a problem though if worry is taking up too much of your time and energy. The good news is that you can learn to reduce your anxiety and deal with worry more effectively. A sample WRAP plan on worry will be handed out at the workshop. This workshop is based on Mary Ellen Copeland’s “ The Worry Control Workbook”

          Overview

          This training guides an individual with developmental disabilities through developing their own practical plan to live a happier and healthier life. This training can count towards Peer Mentor Internship.

          What You'll Learn

          Create lists of:

          • Things you can do to keep happy and healthy.
          • How you feel when you feel really good.

          Develop plans to:

          • Use wellness tools to feel better from stressful events.
          • Do things that help when you feel bad.
          • Let supporters know what you need and how to help during a difficult time.
