          Mental Health First Aid – Adult

          Overview

          Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based training program that teaches adults how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges. The program is designed to build mental health literacy and provide an action plan for safely and responsibly addressing potential mental health or substance use challenges. MHFA uses real world examples in a supportive learning environment to prepare participants to use the ALGEE action plan, which can be applied to assist family members, neighbors, coworkers, community members, or strangers experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis.

          • Recognizing the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues (e.g., depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance use).
          • Responding appropriately and offering initial help.
          • Guiding the person to professional support or self-help resources.

          Mental Health First Aid – Youth

          Overview

          Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.

          What You'll Learn

          Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.

          Military Sexual Trauma

          Overview

          This training will educate you about Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and focus on the prevalence of MST in the military, as well as the physical and psychological effects impacting victims. We will also explore how you can assist a Veteran impacted by MST.

          PTSD and Moral Injury

          Overview

          This webinar provides an in-depth look at Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Moral Injury, exploring how these conditions can impact both Veterans and civilians. Participants will learn about the psychological, emotional, and behavioral effects of traumatic experiences, as well as the differences and overlaps between PTSD and Moral Injury. The session will also cover strategies for coping, resilience-building, and support resources available for individuals affected by trauma. Real-life examples and case studies will help illustrate the challenges faced and the pathways to recovery.
