Beyond The Bag: Ostomies & Urinary Catheters
This training offers attendees a chance to learn about the different types of ostomies, urinary catheters, and how it affects the individuals we serve. Participants will learn about different health conditions that may involve the use of an ostomy and/or urinary catheter. Providers of all disciplines can learn how to use this information to write integrated health goals for Individual Plans of Service, by creating S.M.A.R.T. outcomes and planning appropriate interventions.
Training Objectives:
A) Understand ostomies, urinary catheters, and functioning of the different types of each.
B) Identify chronic health conditions that could involve an ostomy, urinary catheter.
C) Learn the benefits and risks of ostomies and urinary catheters for individuals.
D) Become better prepared to provide support and services to individuals with an ostomy, urinary catheter and improve the IPOS for an individual with an ostomy, urinary catheter.
