Biography

John Young, an Oakland County resident for more than 50 years, has both professional and personal experience related to public mental health services. He has worked in a large mental health care setting, as well as advocated for family members receiving services. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University with a master’s in business administration. As the Vice President of Communications and Marketing at Oakland University, he utilizes his extensive skill set to foster collaborative relationships in the community. As an OCHN Board member he hopes to continuously look for innovative solutions and collaborative partnership to better serve the most vulnerable individuals supported by the public behavioral health system.
