Torres previously served as a Congressional Fellow with the U.S. House Education and Workforce Committee and teaches courses in American Government at Oakland Community College.
While serving on OCHN’s board, Torres hopes to address issues related to stigma, proper diagnoses, access to services, as well as advocate for collaborations with Mental Health and Drug Courts.
Torres first became involved with community mental health while working in the court system seeing the revolving door connected with the justice system and those affected by mental health and substance use disorders.
