Director of Rights and Advocacy
Vicki Suder began her career with Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) as a clerk in child/adolescent day treatment services in 1989. Since then, she has advanced her professional career holding various positions within the public mental health organization. She worked in fiscal services, contract and program development, and human resources. Most recently, Vicki served as OCHN’s manager of Community Education and Consumer Empowerment.
Vicki’s commitment and compassion for community service is demonstrated by her many volunteer roles. She has served as a basketball coach for youth programs; leadership team member for Kids Hope Tutoring program; St. John Providence Continuum Care Board member; and Ferndale Free Methodist Church Outreach Committee chairperson, Finance chairperson, and Board member. Vicki also is a LOXV Leadership Oakland graduate and a certified Advanced Communicator Bronze Toastmaster and Speechcraft facilitator.
In addition to overseeing the Rights and Customer Services teams, Vicki is responsible for the support and empowerment of people served by OCHN’s service provider agencies through the certification of peer support specialists, the consumer strategic planning workgroup, and by leading the network’s anti-stigma effort.
Vicki received both her Business of Science and Master of Business Administration Degrees from Wayne State University (WSU). While attending WSU, she was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.
